Trattaneuto
I tremble when the
soft petals of your eyes
gaze plumply upon my
smile
so sweet.
When velvet wine sucks dry lips and I
soften my skin into my
dress-
old rose in texture
We're too in love to notice
how we're drying out.
Caroline Seagle's Questions:
"Trattaneuto" means dry.
It's a musical term used for expression when playing. I thought this fit the poem appropriately because it is meant to signify the turnout of the situation.
Does the end leave the reader hanging?
Could I add more that would be beneficial to the poem?
