IMAGE OF EARTH AND QUILL

Guest Poet Clarence Thompson

 Conviction

In this gray zone, I am Schroedinger's cat.
Dead or alive?  Sinner or saint?
  In indeterminate state
I exist, cut off from conscience
  by dark closet walls
  until You open my box.
But in the light, I collapse
  into awful certainty.

Clarence Thompson's Questions:

1. Is the meaning of the poem clear?

2. Is the reference to "Schroedinger's cat" too obscure?

  Thank you very much!
