IMAGE OF EARTH AND QUILL

Guest Poet Wanda M. Wandas

Blue and Gray

I live in a house that is blue
all but the gray of the windows
and stare at the wrinkles from
the frown upon your face
to end it all

or examine your brown pipe
engraved with white swirls of porcupine
or with two hands
adjust the pillow behind your head --
the pillow that has slipped from its resting place
even though
your body has stopped breathing

Wanda M. Wandas's Questions:

1. Is the title misleading?  Should it be more pertinent to the content?

2. Does the line break in the next to last line stop the poem's flow?

3. Does the tone seem happy, sad or melancholy?

Thank you
