IMAGE OF EARTH AND QUILL

Guest Poet Arjun Purkayastha

LUNATIC

The lunatic
Lives in his real world
Where he is the only sane one
He has been driven
Into his real world
By the madness
Of the illusionary world
That he inhabits
The lunatic
Is senseless
Blinded by love
Deafened by silence
Muted by screams
Of his emotions
Looking for an exit
Inside him
Inside his real world

Arjun Purkayastha's Questions:

I was trying to bring out the contradictions of life in this poem.

Is that apparent? Does the reader identify with the poem in a way?

What do you think about the title of the poem?
