Guest Poet Paul Cassidy
ENLIGHTENMENT
Somewhere beyond the borders of our hopes
dreams linger silently behind silver fences
Poised like nickered schoolboys waiting
for the bell
Then to dash through gates kept locked and barred
stumbling, giggling, to places of their own choosing
Waterfalls of color cascading
Creating
shimmering pools
Their surfaces reflecting our imaginings
like angels dancing on clouds
releasing our souls to wander
Here we meet
Embracing, spinning, reeling
in a joyous celebration
Bathing in the fantasies
The reckless, wild abandonment
of love

Paul Cassidy's Questions:
Am I pushing the imagery too hard?
Does the last stanza ruin the flow?
