IMAGE OF EARTH AND QUILL

Guest Poet Michael Mason

Unrequited

A day like any other
I never meant to fall for another
when we met
I lost my heart forever
Though un-told
you walk within my soul
every fleeting touch
every longing glance
I fall into a deeper trance
If love could be chosen
our lives would be one
no crueler fate
my true love is enamoured
but not with the chosen one
Unrequited sensations
tortuous dejection
hidden revelations
it was not my intent
to suffer this discontent
My true love forever
there is no greater
together with one another
a day like no other
