IMAGE OF EARTH AND QUILL

Guest Poet Paula Petrone

Fishbowl

From this side of the fishbowl
 I see prominent noses
  and rounded boxes,
     rocks of dust,
 crusts of ashes.

   Fishbowl, forever mother,
     world of weeds, and
      whirls of bubbles.
   Packed freedom in a pool
     of warm desires,
tries to shatter the magnifying wall
   that, like marble,
separates the cold from the living.

Paula Petrone's Questions:

Are the constructions awckward for the native reader?

¨Prominent noses¨ is too banal an image?

Correct colocation of word ¨pool¨?

Thank you very much for your attention.
