IMAGE OF EARTH AND QUILL

Guest Poet Frederic Surget

JE SUIS GRAND

Remember nights
you wept
eyes closed
to my chest.

Remember mornings
you sipped
your bottle
on my lap.

I told you
trees and lillies
once lying
on the grass
your questioning look
hooked to mine.

Today I don't
need your hand
daddy
je suis grand
said my boy
in a true smile.

But stay
a little while
only I still
have plenty
to tell you
and more.

It is I who
need you
I may confess
before you part
and say bye
papa,

my big boy.

Frederic Surget's Questions:

First, I wonder if this experience sounds plausible to the reader. But also, I am not sure of the opportunity of using French words or expressions. Finally, the third question is rather more technical and concerns the use of punctuation. Should I use some more ?
I thank you all for your time, and hope to read you soon.
