Guest Poet Michael Ledbetter
Silent Men
Silent men standing still,
on sacred grounds and
hallowed fields.
Silent men have come before,
to share the burden
of these shores.
Silent men who do not speak,
of a place that time
now keeps.
Silent men with nerves of steel,
and heavy hearts that
never heal.
Silent men that cannot share,
these fragile memories
in their care.
Silent men of then and now,
can only know this
secret vow.

Michael Ledbetter's questions:
This is my first poem, I'm not sure if I'm on the right track or not.
Please review my poem and provide any suggestions you might have.
I would like to know if it invokes any kind of emotion or is even
interesting.
Thank you.
